Ok, so my buddy was looking to buy a 1988 ranger with 2.9, 7in lift, 33s, and extra parts for 900 bucks...truck is not inspected. Anyways i went with him twice to look and drive the truck and it checked out so when he went to pick it up, on his way home the truck suddenly started running rough...not on all cylinders. What cud cause the truck to suddenly do that? its sounds like an easy fix and i didnt want him to make the mistake of walking away from something that may be that easy to fix. SO any ideas???

Start by inspecting the easy things like plugs, wires and the dist. cap.

just something that popped in my head, could the truck have fouled a plug just like that ? but ya iim going to try and do that thanks.

It may have fouled a plug, it doesn't burn oil bad does it?

ok, so the truck keeps going back and forth from running good to running crappy...my buddy said the owner got under the hood and while the truck was running crappy it suddenly went back to normal. The owner didnt know how that happen. It sounds like something loose or what ever but idk what it could be...ideas?

i was starting to lean towards injector problems but how would u check something like that?
