I agree. I'm going to drop some acetone in the tank and then I'm done with it. Everyone thanks for all the help, I appreciate it.
if the acetone does not work tr the TECHRON the stuff is the balls!!..........I had the same issue with my check valve the fuel pressure dropped like a stone when i turn the rig off...............the techron cleared it right up. that was 2 years ago...........been fine since.........if you can run texaco or chevron gas in it.........i bet you were using Shell?

Acetone or run a bit of E-85 mixed with your gas (~10-15% E_85) for a couple tanks.
Is this the ratio I should use for my vehicle? 20 gallon tank = 18-17 gallon of gas and 2.0-3.0 gallons of acetone?

Suzaman. DO NOT PUT GALLONS OF ACETONE IN YOUR TANK. Autozone has Techron on sale 2for 1. Go get 2 bottles and run it in consecutive fill ups. It will be the best $8 you ever spent.

No problem with that. I added 6 .oz of acetone and have driven 200 mi. It's running great. I'm going to run another tank and then check the fuel pump pressure just out of curiosity. Thanks

Suzaman. That sounds better . Some peeps add an ounce per 5 gallons whenever they fill up. I do not use the acetone regularly because I have heard that it could eat rubber and plastic components in the fuel system. I have no idea if that is accurate or not I just have read it. I imagine that the small amounts you are adding would not have much effect on the rubber... The acetone from a drugstore ie. Nail polish remover can be 100% acetone. I am not sure if acetone from home depot is 100% acetone

10-15% E-85. The ethanol in E-85 will clean your entire fuel system the same as acetone & will not harm anything in most injected vehicles.
