Running a LSD w/o friction modifier

i serviced my rear diff last week after i bought my '94 B3000 2wd not realizing it was an lsd (code f6). with that said i put conventional 75w90 in it and no friction modifier. could i potentially damage the rear end by driving it like this? i've seen post on here that say both ways to i wanted to confirm something before i panic and redo the diff.

the lsd wont work? do i risk running any damage driving it until i can add some FM? and if i take out the fill plug and get some oil out can i just add that in?

It's fine without it. The clutches have more holding power without it. If it's not chattering leave it alone.

It should be fine withour it. If it does start to make noises just drive gently in clockwise circles a few times and then in counter-clockwise circles a few times and it should stop the noises, it will allow the clutches to get lubricated.

sweet thanks, thats what i wanted to hear. i'll prolly still stop by the ford dealer in town and get some still, i just wanted to be certain it wasn't urgent. i havent heard anything anyway.

It is completely fine without it. Friction modifier only quiets things down, if it's not already. A lot of gear oil these days comes with modifier mixed in. If you are that worried about it, you can get it at any auto parts store. The dealer will just rip you off.
