2004 Ranger 4.0 4x4. I got a small rumble at 55mph that almost feels like running over rumble strips. It seems to under the drivers seat. Its seems to go away for a few seconds every now and then. As the truck floats over the road grooves it sometimes goes away then comes right back. Replaced both front hubs and bearings and replaced all the tires except one rear which is a Lt 245( it does seem to wobble in and out aprox 1/4 inch when on jacks at 60mph.) The other new tires are p245s. I checked the toe in/out with tape measure according to ford manual and have no issues there, I do have 1/4 negative camber on the tape measure and the manual says 5/32 is the limit. The forward axle coming out of the transfer case seems to have alot of up down movement at the case. Is this normal? Can the forward axle be removed for a test drive? I checked all the ujoints by hand and dont feel anything wrong. The drive shaft had no damage or missing wieghts and is true at 60 mph on jacks. I have slight in/out movement at the rear wheel bearings. This truck has a rebuilt title and had frontend damage, but has always run good. The truck had Lt 245s on it and when I took into walmart to rotate and balance the tires seemed to wobble on the balancer. I just happened to notice it. I complained and they replaced all but the one on the rear because the stamp on the tire didnt match thier records. The new tires didnt fix the problem..I did buy new ujoints but havent replaced those yey. Any help is appreciated..
