Rubber floor mat options...

My 06 has the rubber flooring from the factory and I want to put in some rubber floor mats before my heel rubs through. I see floor mats range from $30 to about $100. I don't mind paying up a bit for quality... but I want to be happy with the purchase. Any suggestions for a good fit and perhaps suggestions that won't allow them to slide around on the existing rubber floor?

On my vinyl floor 2001 Ranger, I used spray adhesive to glue tool drawer liner material to the back of my floormats. It worked well for quite some time but it's gotten impregnated with dirt to the point that they slide around again. They still don't slide around as easily as they did with no backing, but it's worth mentioning.

My 2009 also has rubber floor covering.
I bought a set of Highland 4602800 rubber floor mats on Amazon. Heavy duty rubber, lots of channels to catch crud and water.
$38.26 with free shipping. They fit the contour of the Ranger floor like they were made speciffically for the Ranger. They also do not slide around...they fit the floor well so good there's no room for them to slide around.
No hesitation on my part recommending them.

I've yet to find a floor mat that doesnt end up sliding all over the place on my rubber floors. Even tried the preformed 120 dollar weathertech mats. They still slid around. I've contemplated drilling a hole in each side of the floor to put a anchor point in to hold them.

I got a set of Dickie's floor mats for X-mas last year, yet to put them in, but the are pretty beefy and look like they will last.

mine are "Customizable", meaning you can trim to fit.

I bought weather tech for my F150 and they’re moving around a bit on the carpet. The fit and look good. But they still move around

I always thought a one piece floormat like the 70's and 80's trucks often had would be the ticket to keep things from moving around, but you'd have to trim the heck out of it to make it go around consoles, cup holders, etc..

I'm tellin you buddy, the Highland I listed above don't slide. They fit the floor well from hump to sill, front to the seat bolts. They look / are generic, but they fit the contour of the Ranger (my 2009) like they were custom made.
Biggest problem with mats sliding is the oe mat must be super clean...no dirt or protectant...squeekie clean. Best thing I've found to clean any type of pebble or textured item is Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner.
Just spray it on, let it foam for 5 minutes, and wipe it out/off with a clean damp rag. That stuff will remove the imbedded dirt and crud from the oe mat and they will be clean.

I had Husky liners in mine, they never seemed to move around much when I had the rubber floor.

Ha! What you don't realize is that I've been so full of for so many years that it should only be a suprise to those that don't know me!!!
Seriously, being a retired ole fart I have soooo much time on my side that I do alot of research on anything I buy. If it ain't good enough for me, than it ain't good enough for anyone.
If I find something that I like or have used with good results, I have no problem passing it on.
Oh, if they do slide, use a framing nailer to hold em down.

Grumpaw I actually had that very set of mats in my amazon cart and also the husky liners. The husky liners increased to over $96. I think I will try a set of the Highland mats... The price sure seems right. If they move around... I might try to Birdify them. I did do some spring cleaning on my flooring and did wipe on some protectant... I will do another cleaning to remove it prior to installing

Yeah Uncle Gump, you have to remove that protectant or the mats, no matter what brand, will slide around. Some of that protectant is hard to get rid of...try using a heavy duty cleaner like Crud Cutter, Simple Green,, ect. Even rub them down with some plain old 70% alcohol.
