rpm wont drop

hello
i have a 00 ford ranger 2.5 5 speed. this is more of an anoyance than an actual issue but inbetween shifts i notice that the rpm doesnt drop even if i take my foot off the throttle. now ive been told this is normal but it just annoys the hell out of me. is there anyway to change or adjust this?

it's not normal.
the idle is set by the computer.

you probably have a vacuum leak somewhere. check for disconnected or broken lines. otherwise you can check the IAC valve and PCV valve.

yea mine does that sometimes. and it anoys me too. or it makes you look like a beginner drivin a 5 sp
