I bought a '98 Ranger XLT 4X4 OffRoad recently, and at the time it was stuck in 4wd. The seller went underneath the truck, in the center, and he disconnected this small silver component that he now had in his hand. He "chocked"it (his words) "just cost me more money" (my thoughts)...so that it would stay in 2wd. It had a peculiar name that I can't remember. My truck just has the switch on the dash for switching 2wd/4wd. I am sure someone knows what it's called...please help Seems like it was like an "accuator motor" something like that, and I THINK it had an electrical connection as well, which would make sense if I am not locking in my hubs from outside! I feel kind of silly, and I have climbed underneath my truck looking for it...was just gonna take it to my friend and ask him what its called because I need to order a new one...can't find it now! Can't go into 4wd. Not going to the parts counter calling it "the thing that..." and looking like a fool
