so come spring time when i get my tax returns im gonna buy a 4" lift for my truck. i know rough country and tough country are the cheapest and you get what you pay for. blah blah blah. i know people complain about the rough country punching diffs out. idk if that is still true but either way im never gonna be doing serious off roading or monster flex or jumps so its not a big deal. the RC lift is cheaper than the TC. i was just wondering if there was actually any difference between the two. would it be worth my money to go with the tuff country who i havent really heard any bad reviews about?

Tuff Country doesn't have the diff-puncher bracket. Both have pretty stiff coils.
If it's between those two only, I'd go Tuff Country.

Tuff country. I had one. It was pretty stout.

For what it is and what it costs it is actually a decent kit.

Only thing you need is brakelines, as it comes with shocks and a pitman arm (usually).

I went with Skyjacker. A little more money, but it is a solid lift. Mine was the full lift with extended radius arms and the transmission crossmember/radius arm mount adapter. I haven't had issues. Just another option to consider. I don't plan on getting rid of my truck for many, many years. I have only had it for 18 years, so it's just getting broken in.

by then i should be ready to sell my rough country kit... everything for the front minus one bracket. but we could talk closer to time..

anyways. i've talked to a guy at rough country that is a member of my local forum that works there and they are looking at doing softer coils.. something around a 335-350 ppi (similar to stock coils).. sure they still use a drop bracket... but with the coils they give you, you won't get that much flex to hurt anything lol. i've ran my little RC lift hard.. and for the price i paid. i won't complain.... so from personal experience, i say do RC. i've had the front off the ground a couple inches, sure its ROUGH! but.... maybe they will redo their lift kits soon, i should be updated if anything happens. i'm gonna keep in touch with them about it. asked them about the drop pitman arm and the drop brackets.. we'll see. all i can say is their customer service is probably the best i've ever dealt with!

HOWEVER, also realize i don't think tuff country does coils in their lift kit anymore. anyone remember the issue where we all raised hell on here with them??? but in all reality, you could buy their lift and then buy xj coils or eb coils or something... that way you get the real drop brackets and everything you need minus coils-- and you don't want their coils anyways..

I think it comes with the coils just not the shocks. But thats cool that you have an in with rc. If they do change anything by then I might look into them.

No tuff country does NOT come with coils. Look on their website for the ranger/explorer lift. Under the pic it says NOTE: the box kit does not include coil springs.

They offer coils; but the are separate just like their shocks. Why does that make sense??? It doesnt. A lift kit with no springs..... Lol

That's weird because on suspension connection it has coils and add shocks for 150. 650 bucks is not bad at all

Call or email them and VERIFY it. Just to save you some trouble. Bc the other guy didn't order straight from tuff either.... So....
Ask ajmiller about his ordeal..

I remember reading about it. He went through a lot of stupid stuff to get everything. But I will definitely check to make sure when I go to order

just don't want you to get screwed on the deal and have to wait a few weeks to gather more parts... so figured i'd advise you on it. either way... good luck. get it lifted! lol

Thanks man. I appreciate it. trust me. If I had the money the kit would be on the way right now
