Recently 2nd gear has been falling about half way in. Feels like its in but if you let out the clutch it'll grind.if you shift with force it doesn't do this. Shifter has no slop in gear or in neutral. New clutch and everything like at most 3k miles ago. Transmission makes no noise. Has 300k on it.

Is this any thing to worry about?

300K is a ripe old age for a manual transmission. I wouldn't worry until it started jumping out of gear. Keep it full of Mercon and party on Garth. Even if you lose second, there are 4 more gears. :D

Its never once popped out. I'm assuming the shop put Napa fluids in. It was a reputable shop. Honestlythis transmission has less slop than any ive used. Just wasn't sure if there was any thing I could do to help

The slop in neutral sounds like the shifter needs to be tightened. I am referring to the bolt that goes through the shift lever and is located under the rubber boot.

SORRY!!!! I just read your post again and realized that you said NO SLOP in neutral.
