My 2002 ranger idles rough at start up. It will not stall out and once you drive a few miles it runs smoothly. Any clue as to where I should start trying to fix the problem. Thanks in advance.
Turns out it was the plugs/wires and possibly the IAC valve. Plugs were terrible. New ones gapped to .044". I think the ones that came out were originals since they were badly worn and the gap was over .100". Changed the plug wires as well as cleaned the idle air control valve. Now it runs like a new truck. Lots of get up and go and no more rough idle. Amazing what a little maintenance will do. I am curious about the gas milage now. Should be considerably better.
