My current rough draft for a gun rack. Have a lot of tweaking left to do on it but so far it’s been useful.

you just need one of those little vinyle retracteable covers that come in suvs once you get that set up and then the rifle will be hidden from view and safely transported

it could fit under cargo cover if you had one (mine does). It's essentially a window blind.
although with tinted windows in the back it's kind of hard to see what's in there anyway.

Pretty cool coyote gun.

I like then concept... not a real fan of the execution. But understand... I'm not knocking your work. It's functional and does what you need it to.

I was thinking a couple pieces of thin wall square tube anchored to the floor and at the top below the window frame would give you a solid frame to hang that molle panel.

I wish I had the 4 door super cab... without those that space is a pain to get at.

molle cool they have them for bedside too
probably have ones for overland racks

No I'm completely fine with any response I receive! It was my intentions in hoping that someone will give their opinion because it will help me fine tune it or give me a different perspective to look at it with. I winged all of it and came up with what I have shown with only using material that I could find around my garage. So any opinion, good or bad, I want to hear it! I want to improve it so it can be extremely functionable and not trashy looking.

So, thank you for your response, I never would have thought about doing it the way you suggested but I definitely would love to have a sturdier frame/support for my panel.

I completely understand working with what's on hand.

I've actually been thinking of a rack system built with 1 inch square tube for the cargo area of my Bronco II. My thoughts include a molle panel or two... and a gun rack or two. It's gonna be my hunting rig... so it needs to haul my hound and firearms.
