I came upon the site when I logged in here via google advertisement:

Anyone here tried buying from them or heard about them? I'm eyeing some lift kits on which they sell discounted for the holidays.

Thanks.

I've never had a RC lift, but I've heard they are pretty average/good. There are better lift setups out there, but I would'nt pass up a good deal, if they had one for my truck. Personally I have my eyes on the Skyjacker 6"

^^I don't think it's a bad idea. It depends on which lift you're looking at, and for what application.

for our ttb trucks does their pivot drops replace the whole bracket or add to the factory one?

I think the newer ones come with a whole new bracket. I think! Rc is a good company to deal with though! Also, if you say youre a member of jeep forum and you also have a ranger, they will usually throw you a discount! I have a rc lift kit on my gf's jeep.

Unrelated to RBV lifts but I have 2 separate buddies that have purchased rough country lifts for their Jeeps in the last couple months and both have had problems with different components in each lift kit.

05Rubicon TJ 4" long arm kit has poor angles in the trac bar, either the drop bracket or the bar itself because after a month of driving it he needs both new trac bar bushings replaced and they all came with the kit, polly bushings and replacement trac bar. The vehicle was professionally aligned after the lift install too. Second the front springs they sent him have a weird bow to them, before we installed them they bowed sitting on the garage floor. After installed the passenger side bows far enough that it rubs on the bump stop mount inside the spring. Both front shocks are leaking now too.

08Rubicon JK 4" lift kit came with all new upper and lower control arms and one lower came apart at the heim while off road. Upon inspection we found that the machine weld had missed the joint of the bung and tube and just welded the tube with one small spot that actually penetrated the bung. Under suspension articulation the upper and lower heims on the front suspension bottom out inside the frame brackets and diff brackets before full movement is achieved. He has a front and a rear shock leaking as well as the front passenger shock hits the frame under passenger droop and has dented before achieving full movement, the shocks are the suspension droop limiters, this is with the diff aligned and centered to specs. The rear trac bar drop brkt angles the trac bar in such a way that the bolt for the trac bar upper mount hits the passenger shock body on full rear passenger suspension compression and has dented the shock body. No way of adjusting it to clear either.

From our experience with rough country, they don't have very thorough design crew making the lift components and their quality control isn't great if this many parts are wrong with 2 different lift kits.

These guys both spent a couple grand each on these lifts and this is what they got out of it. Both are in talks with rough country separately and haven't seen retribution as of yet.

I have the Rough Country 4" on my 91 Ranger 2WD, The lift clears 31's nicely and yes the kit for a 2WD I know comes with new drop brackets, new coils, either blocks or leafs, a pretty simple lift to build however there is some drilling and torching required, but thats a given with just about any lift.
I have thought about the 6" skyjacker, but the $$ leaned way towards the 4" Rough Country, but stage two for my truck will be adding 2" spacers front/ new 6" leafs rear and a 3" body lift to clear room for new 33x12.50's.

dam thats a good looking truck...and btw i am a member of a jeep forum...about 3 lol

i had rc 3" for my z71 and never had probs, rode a bit stiff with their torsion bars but wasnt bad. i offroaded it a few times, but was basically to help the tow rig out with some looks

although i did install about 5 of them at my old job and they seem to vary in quality and i never understood how, dont know if it was the rigs or the holes werent drilled right to not line up

I've had my RC 4" lift for about 2 months now and love it. They changed the color scheme from all red with red coils to black with silver coils. I had to get extended stainless steel brakelines though. I got the kit with blocks, the only problem so far is it sits higher in the front then the rear but nothing a pair of belltech shackles or explorer leaves wont fix. Couple things to consider when doing this lift get a good impact, air compressor, lots of PB Blaster, grinder, and air hammer. Directions say drill out rivets good luck I tried it and found that if you grind off the head of the rivet down to where you can see the crack from the rivet and just use an air hammer to punch them out. Also drop the whole axle assembly instead of dropping 1 side at a time. Makes everything so much easier.

i might be a lil late.. but i aint had any troubles from my RC lift... it does have the plate and reuse the stock bracket on one side of the axle.. not a big deal tho.... its worked fine.. the coils are stiff and mine sat front high till i did an add a leaf..
