Was installing my 4 inch rough country lift yesterday and got to the point where I just needed to put springs and shocks in. The website or instructions never said anything about needing longer brake line for this lift but it appears that the stock lines are not long enough. Anyone have any experience on this lift? Are the stock lines long enough? Do I just need to jack up the arms to get the caliper back in place and the weight of the truck conpress it enough not to worry about it? If I need longer lines can I get them at a Kragen, Autozone, Pep Boys type of place? Thanks in advance

I think this one of those instances where it is just better to replace the lines with longer ones anyway. Brakes are so important that it would be better to be safe than sorry. And if you have to jack the arms into place, then the lines are not long enough. If you go off road and your suspension flexes a little too much, you will probably break the lines. I dont know if places like that sell them. I'd try http://www.ntwonline.com/89-97_FORD_RNGR-BRNII-EXP_4-6__P13264C315.cfm and http://www.ntwonline.com/83-97_FORD_RNGR-BROII-EXP_W_O__P13298C315.cfm. This places usually has really good prices and shipping.

With a 4 inch lift you will usually be fine with relocating the brake line to a lower position.

I'm referring to the hard line that your rubber lines connect to.

HTH.

Also, with the Rough Country lift, be SURE to extend your bumpstops to prevent grenading of the D35 pumpkin if you go off road.
