ive been looking at lifting my truck, has anyone on here ever used the rc leveling kit for the ttb trucks? if so are there any alignment issues? also is this a good kit?

i have them on my 94 ,there ok, a little to stiff for my liking but you will need to buy camber bushing for your alignment to back to spec

One of my buddies dad always heated the coils and sometime the leaf springs a bit to make his springs not as harsh...his dad did this years ago as a Ford mechanic who did work on 4x4 trucks that customers wanted to lift. He noted that a lot of suspension lift springs and coils were stiffer and some were not. He heated them up when he built medium size Ford dump trucks up in PA years ago. He told me there were never any issues when hi dad did this heat treatment to the leafs and coils......maybe it will work for you??

Tricks of the trade I guess!!!

thanks. is there a certain type of camber bushings i need? also are they easy to install?

not hard it took me about 4 hours to do sitin on the cold ground out side.and the ones youll need i think are like 2deg+/-

i talked to a shop today that told me the allignment for my truck after the lift would be about 300-400 dollars and said he may have to bend my beams along with putting the cam bushings in. does this sound wrong to you?

you will not have to bend the beams nor should they even be heated up and bent you can get up to 4 -/+ eccentrics as long as you are doing 2 inches up or down

but thats an insane price for an alignment/bushing install

thats what i thought, the bushings from napa are only $14 each.

Beams dont need to be bent, period.

Take it to a different shop. These guys obviously dont know how to deal with aligning a TTB truck (it seems not many places really do)
A lifetime warrantied allignment should only be like $100 max kinda thing.

It says right on the front of the beam DO NOT HEAT! when i leveled mine it only cost me $80 for the alignment, but i supplied the moog adjustable bushings.

yea i found out the dude just didnt want to do it. i deffinantly wasnt gonna let him do it after he wanted to heat and bend my beams.
