:icon_confused: hi all. i have a 2000ranger xlt 3.0litre 2 wheel drive auto tranny.
i have been doing most of my own repairs since i was 16.
problem-when im slowing down to come to a stop it feels like it would if you had a flat spot on the tire.the tires are all fairly new so im thinking warped rotors.this will be the 3rd set of rotors,if thats what it is in3 years.

anybody got any ideas on why its happening. thank you.

This can be caused by the rear brakes needing adjusted.
Fronts are doing all the work.

+1. Rear brakes account for 20% of your stopping power. If they aren't doing their part the fronts will get over heated. Also what kind of brake rotors do you buy? Lower quality brands don't have the thickness nor the proper number of fins to allow cooling. Don't skimp when buying new rotors. $20-30 rotors won't always perform the same as $50 ones.

you didn't specify where the pulsation comes from, can you feel it in the steering wheel?

it could be warped rotors, or out of round drums. lightly apply your parking brake to see if you can feel a pulsation. this will tell you if its the rotors or the drums.

be sure not to lock up the rear wheels when you do this, lightly means just enough to feel a drag and start slowing down.

thanks for your suggestions guys.since i bought the truck i have never put new shoes on or had the drums turned, that is if there is enough there to still turn.
thanks again.
