So in feb I sold my first ranger, a 95 b2300:

To get this, an 03 explorer sport 2wd:

Then after a month I sold it because I hated the auto trans, and I was driving a 93 chevy 3500 6.5 diesel for the last 3 months (which sucked). Now finally today I got another ranger, an 02 reg cab 2wd 4 cyl. (Pics to come tomorrow)

I like it alot better than the sport even though it's 10 times slower but at least I dont have to worry about the trans crappin out any time soon with this one hahaha

More pictures of the dog!!!!

nice, you got a duratec! they have pretty good power (i can still break the tires loose on mine and i have an extended cab and 33's)

Cool. I wish I had the Duratec. My Lima is ok though, mpgs aren't bad and it isn't an interference motor.

That is the only way to build an engine IMO.

True that. My timing belt breaks, I just put a new one on and drive off. A Duratec timing chain breaks, you pray and hope that you have no engine damage.

15 hrs and 30 miles and the cel is already on. heres the code: P1432 Thermostat heater control circuit

I cleared the code once and then 30 miles later it came back on, so i cleared it again and havent driven it enough since to see if it throws the code again.

Truck still drives fine but i hate when the cel is on. any ideas on how to fix it?

P.S.: The upper rad hose was scorching hot and the lower hose was significantly cooler after 65 mile drive The thermostat was replaced 5 days ago before i bought it (i have the receipt)

Update: The code i guess means a thermostat heater control circuit failure. when I went to check the thc I noticed an open hole on the heater motor (pics below, its in the middle of the picture) so I reconnected the hose, ill get a pic of it connected tomorrow, and hopefully it doesnt throw another code. Im hoping nothing got sucked up there and fouled up the sensor so ill hope for the best haha.

So I thought i would post my progress, 30 miles after the reconnect and no codes yet.

Also, my truck is a base XL model, but it has coil springs, AC, power steering, cruise control, and a tow package, and only has manual windows and locks. Is this how most XL's came equipped?

And Stray, I dont have anymore pics of that dog but heres one of the other haha

yours is a 95 & his is a 2003,make a difference, kind of like my 94 XLT didnt come with a CD player but nearly all 2000 & newer vehicle do.

timing BELT vs timing CHAIN

Nearly all vehicles that have been built with chains usually dont ever need replacing as they tend to last the life of the engine.

How many people do you know of with old school & new V-8s that have actually BROKEN a timing CHAIN

The issue isn't so much the chain breaking, but hopping a tooth or two. I've bought 5 BMW 2002's where they have slipped a tooth and bent the valves. I'd yank their heads off, fix them up, replace the timing set and sell them.
