HI i have spent alot of time on this forum but am just recemtly a member.
I have a 94 3.o 5pd 4x4 with aprox 120k on her looking to do a roller rocker swap i want to go with a 1.7 ratio to pick up the extra ponies

i know you guys have spent alot of time going over this but im still drawing a few blanks such as which rockers are the best to use besides tom morana's

and from what i can see the 3.8l 1.7 rockers are a direct fit for the 3.0???:icon_confused:

as far as the mustang rockers im completly confused besides the cause un even wear on the valve tip after a feww thousand?:annoyed:

love this site. I appreciate any feed back you guys might have

The only rockers available that are bolt on to the 3.0 are the 1.8's sold by Morana, and even his are designed for an engine other than the 3.0.
You may be able to find other rockers that will work with modification, but as you stated, uneven wear is a very real possibility. Keep your eyes on the valve tips when you install them.

I used CRANE 1.7:1 rockers with modified guide plates on my old truck with a 3.0L. The roller rockers were factory on cobra 5.0L engines. I tapped the head to accept 5.0L studs and the rest is same procedure as a 5.0L V8. Unfortunatly Crane went belly up.

so morana's m112 intake wasn't for the 3.0, and the roller rockers aren't for the 3.0 either? good business strategy he's got...

To clarify a little, the M112 intake was for the 3.0, it just didn't account for the snout length of the M112, so the belt wouldn't line up making it unusable. And his 1.8's may work, but they were originally designed for another motor. I'll be checking very closley when I install mine to make sure the geometry is correct.
