Below is a pic of my Ranger. I'm thinking of ditching the black bed cover, going with black Rhino Lining and adding a gloss black Rollbar, with a light bar with 4 KC 6x9.

Anyone recommend a quality bar, I know it won't be anything more than just show. By quality, I would prefer something that actually attaches to the frame, looks good and fits. Please excuse my ignorance if that's not how they work.

Thanks in advance.

The "roll bars" are actually just light bars and bolt into your bed. Now I have seen them save SOME body damage in a roll over but I would never expect one to save my life. That aside, I personally think a nice gloss black dual tube setup would look nice in your rig seeings where you've started with it on the front tube hoop and lights. The main thing to look at for the quality in one would be the finish on it. Alot of places have them poorly powder coated to save on building cost. I personally would keep and eye out for a nice used one, and sand blast or have it blasted and have it powder coated by someone who will use a primer or even have it sprayed at a body shop and make sure they use an Epoxy primer to seal it up well and finish it with a single stage urethane in gloss black. Good luck :icon_cheers: cuz I really like how the truck is coming alog so far...

To be honest, i'm not liking that. I guess it's the fact that it mounts on the edge of the fenders and not the bed. Maybe I'm just old fashion, but thanks for the suggestion.

if you get the bar attached to the frame and braced as it should be, it will be a roll bar true enough and hopefully prevent any serious damage to the passengers. nice looking truck!
Thanks man, click on the "my build thread" link in my sig to see how it got to where it is.

ive seen advertisiments for a company called Go Rhino, there bars seem alot beefier then that, come in chrome or powder coat

ohh well that link has a place that custom makes em and they have the ones that go inside the bed, they only work with painted tubes, sice u want it gloss black. u can shoose the tubing diameter and style
i want one on the bed sides cuz i need all the bed cargo space

i dont know about the dual tube roll bars but i just installed a 3 in tube roll bar in my ranger and they seem to be harder to find but looks awesome already have several ppl tryin to buy it

do you want it in the bed for looks or do you want it for lights? cause i think your truck would suit the desert style light bars that go over the top of your windshield

what's your bed length? not meaning to hijack but i would love a cover
Hell if I know, how ever long the bed of an 02 Ranger XLT is LOL. I'll try to measure it and let you know. If I do go with Rhino Lining, then you're welcome to the cover. It won't be for a while, probably summer at the earliest.

I know what you're saying, but I'm thinking in the bed for looks as well as for lights. I don't do much night time stuff, i'm an old fart. However last months Off-Road had an article on a desert truck with a light bar you are talking about.

If I were to go with something like that, I'd probably go with 4 more of the 8" Rally's that I have in front.

i think they look much better and all ive heard about the bed mounted ones is you get too much glare from the light across the roof and hood
