I was at work today and saw an old 2wd ranger 6ft bed with a roll bar, those ones that go in the bed. There not mounted in his truck neither. I asked the guy where he got them and he said he was actually selling the ones he got in his truck now. He said they came off an stx 4x4 he had. Now my question is I have a 03 2wd ranger 6ft bed and was wondering if they would fit? And how would I attach them to the truck? I always wanted the bars. By the way he is selling them for 75$:headbang:. Any advice would be sweet!

If it isn't mounted just set it in there and make sure everything sits how you want it.

It should fit though, I got mine listed as one for a small truck, and it fit perfect, they guy didn't know what it fit.

Im pretty sure they would fit! I guess the real question is how do I attach them to the truck and with what. I have no welding supplies or anything just basic tools.

You can just drill through the bed and bolt it down. It doesn't need to be anything real strong, because I assume this is a cheap "show bar". If you like the looks of them, go for it. If you are expecting it to keep you safe, please don't count on that.

Yeah I know its for show! Just looks sweet. Im just unsure if i want to drill holes in my bed and all. I dont know

Not sure if this would work or not...just an idea. But since your unsure about drilling into the bed.

How bout mounting the bars to plywood base, and just laying the plywood base in the bed...or make a "frame" out of 2x4s or something and mount to that. as long as you build the base large enough it "should" be stable..

depends what you have laying around to work with, I wouldent spend any $ making a base...just drill the bed if it comes to it.

I found one at the junkyard for like 25 bucks, there's a push bar there now that I want that's also for 25 bucks. Junkyards are sweet.

Anyways, my plan for mine is similar to Thundarfoot's idea except to make the base out of metal with studs sticking up and weld it to the truck bed. Set the show bar on top and just hold it down on the studs with nuts. That way it's easily be removable from the bed with a few turns of a socket wrench. Rather not drill holes into the bed cause that's a place for rust to start, and removing it from the junkyard truck was a PITA, rather not go through that everytime I want to remove it.

yes its a nice idea with studs but I just dont like the looks of studs all over the bed just to hold the bars down. Speaking of junkyards my bro and I went to a few today and scored a plastic bed liner with the plastic tailgate piece of 50 bucks. I just grabbed that and skipped the whole roll bar idea. they look so sweet tho, but thanks for the help dudes.

Don't worry, mine sucks as well. The population of my province is in the one hundred thousands, so the pickings are real slim, just got lucky with a couple things.
