I park my Ranger in the driveway overnight, and this year I have had a chipmunk building a nest in the valley of my 4.0 V-6. He's already chewed through one of my spark plug wires, and nibbled on the distributor. Removing the nesting materials doesn't seem to discourage him - he just rebuilds it every night. Ammonia soaked rags don't do any good either. HELP?!

Ask him if his name is Alvin, Simon, or Theodore.

Benefits of living in the country. I use chipmunks for target practice.

DryDogFood soaked in AntiFreeze left under the IntakeManifold as a treat for "Alvin".

You got something against singing chipmunks?
Alvin can sing all he wants; just don't be making a mess under my hood !!!
I have extensive conversations with a family of chippers that live in a culvert under my driveway;
cute little buggers, but can't trust 'em when it comes to the vehicles.

So, build 'em a nice warm house, and get them a record deal. They'll make you a billionaire.

They do OK all on their own; get real fat eating pinon nuts, moths & crickets all summer long, then sleep for 6+ months!

Oh I gave up the "corporate rat race" for a simpler less stressful life several years back; all a matter of how you measure wealth.

I’m going to give the same advice I gave on the mouse thread...
