This is the bottom below the winch to help give the base plate strength.

Also got the driverside all boxed in. Need to build the passenger side still, then weld it out and paint it.

Now that's a good lookin bumper! Very good work!!!

Do u know how tall the roof line of your truck is? Like from the ground to the top of your roof? I'm trying to get an idea if my truck will clear the garage door after my sas and 37s

Any updates, RockRanger? That bumper was looking wicked then.... :icon_confused:

Sorry I travel a lot for work. My schedule is weird where I will be swamped in work for weeks at a time then have a few weeks open to play in the garage. A lot of the work was done when I was having time off. Now I am buried back in work. I have a few days off right now and hope to get it painted and installed but with my daughters birthday this weekend will make it tough. It will be after Easter before I get much time to work on it again.

My goal is to get it back together to get it wheeling this summer when all the local mountain trails open up.

It is roughly 79" tall. I do clear a regular 7' garage door as long as it is a roll up that gets higher then the header. The antenna does hit. My truck is one of the taller SAS on 37"s I have wheeled with. When I do my exo cage it will be close if I will still fit. If it wont fit I will make a few changes to get it a bit lower. I have about 7" of up travel in the front so I could lower it a few inches and not have much trouble. A rework of the coil buckets and shock mounts I could get it lower and keep decent up travel. At the current height and width I haven't found the truck to be very unstable and the belly clearance is nice.

OK thanks. I think I'm gonna have mine sitting a little lower but as long as yours clears 7' garage door I should be good.

To give it some perspective, here is my truck next to my wife's CJ7. Her Jeep has 2" suspension 1" body and 33"s. My truck is about an inch taller then her soft top is. You would have to have alot of lift on 37"s to not make it clear a standard garage door. I have alot of friends that have put there RBV rigs on 35-37" in normal socal garages.

Finally got the bumper painted. After I built it I figured the two ends would make decent air tanks so I picked up some weld in bungs from a local hydraulic shop. Also Just picked up a York210 compressor to mount up next on the truck. It will probably be after Easter before I get it mounted on the truck

Started bending up the cage today. I have had the bender for 5 plus years and this is the first time I have actually used it. It is going slow and I have wasted some tube but still enjoyable. Also A picture of the bracket I made so that I can make sure I bend to the plane that I want to.

The doors will clear the bars when opened huh? It looks like they'd hit.

They clear by about 3/4". The angle of the picture makes it look closer then it really is. The bar is in front of the hinges and can still unbolt the hinge from the cab if needed.
