I remember this got brought up a little while ago.

Well me and my Toyota wheeling buddie found our thresholds. I maxed out my 45 deg inclinometer before it tipped and loaded the chain. But in reality, I dont want to go over 30, cause if I find a log or anything its game over. Toyota got up to 38 deg, and decided to call it good. It did not tip&load the chain. At 45deg you cant even stay in the seat anymore, pretty nutz.

awesome! how much are those things?

HOLY SHIT BATMAN, i figured they would be expencive as a gold mine!

i have a similar lev-o-gage but i'm too chicken to look at it while white knuckling it,part of me feels like if i look my truck will fall! lol

besides only a small jounce would send you over at that angle.i mostly have it for people who ask "can your truck really tip that far ?" to which i answer "sure let me show you!" as they shriek.

Like I say, I know I can get up to 45 deg and not tip. but if I drive over a pinecone it's game over. So, I'm going to stop at 30 deg-ish.

You got to remember, that is 45 degrees sitting still, different game when you are in motion moving the steering wheel and so forth. Why did you have someone in the truck during a test and not have him with head gear and buckled for safety? This could have turned bad. But it is cool that it go 45deg without flipping, I am not bashing you, just asking.

OK, I looked again, I can see YOU wearing your belt...KUDOS

I have a Toyota (4runner) Inclinometer/altimeter in my Ranger
(mounted to the amplifier access cover in the dash) and though
I've had it to 30degrees I won't go past that unless the IN-bed tank
is empty and both the tanks UNDER the truck are near full

Yeah, I start to fall out of the seat at 30degrees.

Exactly, thats where I'm going to STOP, (not drop+roll, lol)

Actually, I was running the tractor + camera. The body in bronco is Toyota pilots little bro, but yes, seatbelts! (IDK why pal in the toy wasn't wearing his, he commented once we where at full height that "even if I were to tip, this isn't very far to fall...." I'm sure it would be exciting enough though. Chain to the frame FTW!

Not very far to fall, but 4 tons is rolling, what if his head came out that opened window at the roof line? or an arm? I am bashing him, not you, he is the one that said it, he needs to be aware of it. And if that was your property, you would be paying dearly for anything that would have happened, but if you tried to protect him as best as you could you could get out of it possibly.

Bumper is looking good! but.... there is something wrong with your tire..
What did you use to make those clevis knuckles/clips? (I just cut some on the waterjet at work, those look like that)

Reno - I dont remember, perhaps he was just unbuckling to get out, he's a smart guy. Often safer than me (whatever that says, lol) and 4 tons? Bronco out weights toyota, and I weight 4400 fully loaded. = 2 tons. Yes, head under would equal ded, agreed. Anyways, new topic.

Thats an old picture with the old bumper. They are made from 3/4" thick barstock.
I poped the bead and rolled the rim lip over.

Here is the old bumpers new home.:icon_rofl:
