Rim is completly stuck to hub. CAN NOT get it off.

You just need a really big hydraulic puller

Not sure if this has been said (hope not) but I had the same prob on my 99 contour. It was on the front and I spun the wheel up with the engine( I know it was a bad idea) and jammed the brakes. It freed up the rim and I did not kill my dad (lucky). Beware though if you have a l/s diff this will NOT work.

I know it was a bad idea.

I work in the Great Salt Lake deserts. So we have issues like this often. I HATE removing duals when they are stuck. Here is what we do. Loosen the lugs, put the truck in gear and powerbrake it in forward and reverse. You do not need to change gears rapidly. Sooner or later it will pop loose. Don't take it for a drive, you will just put others in danger. Works on the fronts with 4x4 too. On the rare occasions this doesn't work, its a long time waiting for help...

That's the best idea I've heard yet.

That's assuming all the junk yard rears aren't in similar condition from similar elements.

Chirst wth do you pull with that thing? Tank wheels?

We had one similiar to that when I worked at a place repairing electric motors. We used it to pull stuck endbells and bearings off of large motors.

Beat it off with a sledge hammer already!!!! Get on with life.

Get one of those wood splitting maul/axe dealies. It's got the 10lb head, one sides an axe the other is a hammer head, and it's on a 4ft handle.

I used to work at a tire shop in northern NJ(things rust really bad there). That's what I used to get em off.

Swing the ever living hell out of it hitting the inside of the tire "cautiously, watch the rebound" about 5-6 times. Most of the time that would break em loose. If not, 1 shot to the inside of the rim after that usually did it, maybe 2 in cases like yours.

*When beating a wheel off, make sure to put 1 lug nut on by a few threads. This will allow the wheel to come off but also, catch the wheel and keep it from flying off and bouncing who knows where.
*for future easy, make sure to sand all the corrosion from the mounting surface of the wheel, and apply a thin layer of anti-seize.

LAST RESORT ONLY

just jack it up put some big wood rounds under neath it put a 4x4 post on the rounds to equaly distribute the wheight then chain up the tire and tug on it with another rig itll come off with out alot of force just tug on in theres alot of force in a pull

Just thought of this, never tried it before, but it may be worth shot. Take a brass drift, knock all your studs out, and then, *CAREFULLY* and while leaving the jack under the axle let her down. There is a good chance you will damage the rim, but you probably already did that when you barbecued her. There is an equally good chance that you drop your truck if you don't do it right. might want to set a stand under the axle just shorter than the axle height with all 4 wheels on the ground.

I would just like to emphasize that, as this is my idea, and its an extreme situation, it is also a *VERY VERY VERY* bad idea. I would really only do this if litterally all else, an axle swap and my afore mentioned dynamite included, fails to resolve your issue.

Dumb question but didn't see it mentioned anywhere. The brakes are adjusted in all the way?

heres the problem with all of you saying drive it and this that the other thing. truck has no brakes none thats why i need the rim off in the first place to do the brakes.. do the lines.. there is this gay looking like lock it seems on there that looks like i could get an adapter and screw it off or something.. idk what it is. but rims stuck its one with the truck have tried pulling off with 2 ton bottle jck until i almost snapped the chain and cracked the rim.. beat the rim for days with a maul to no avail.. dont no what to do..thing will not will not come off.. i think this is the worst rim to ever be stuck on in the world its like trying to scrape a weld off a flat peice of metal with your finger nail.. getting nooooo where..
