Ride height 1988 4x4

In the tech library under front end alignment there is a chart about 3/4 down the page
with ride height The chart says my 1988 4x4 ride height should be 4 to 4 1/4.
Does anyone know at what two points they are arriving at the measurements

Edit: I think I found it...
I'm not sure where that measurement is from (top of axle to frame itself is my best guess).

I would instead measure by the height of your axle pivot bolts off the ground. (ideally they should be 1" higher than the center of your wheel hubs while on flat ground). This avoids variables such as lifted suspensions and/or if your truck happens to be a factory STX Highrider, etc.
