Hey guys,

I've done A LOT of reading around The Ranger Station, Ranger Power Sports, and a bunch of other websites, but I haven't found a good solid review of the Fabtech suspension lift and I had a few questions.

First off, it seems like people this that this kit isn't really up to snuff when you compare it to the Camburg kit, which is a lot more expensive. I'm not looking to go jump my truck time after time after the desert, I just want a solid offroad suspension upgrade that's going to take me through the mountains, desert, etc. without breaking. Basically I want some of the prerunner performance in my daily driver.

Secondly, the shocks that come with the Fabtech kit. This any good, or would it be best to look to replace them with Bilsteins right away.

Lastly, are there any other 2WD lifts that you think offer a better deal, performance, etc. then the Fabtech kit? I know Camburg is all the rage, but I don't see myself spending the $2000-$3000 for a front and rear lift for something I don't intend to really beat the piss out of on the whoops and jumps in the desert. I mean I want that capability, but I don't need a race-ready suspension. I've heard about RCD, Dixon Bros.?

Thanks for your help and insight guys in advance!

I shelled out the two thou for my camburg kit, before I found out you can but the spindles for a lot cheaper -.-. Anyways, a lot of my buddies that HAD the fabtech, have broken fabtechs now. Since the spindle is cast, unlike the heavily welded Camburg, they tend to break. I personally would stay away from fabtech. Their shocks aren't very good, but if you get Bilsteins you might need a revalve, because mine were SUPER STIFF from factory. If you can get just the camburg spindles, and have a fab shop make you a new upper arm, that would be the best way to go. I don't know much about the RCD suspension, but I think that Dixon Bros is like a step up from camburg.

Hmmm...it seems like it's a common theme with the Fabtech spindles being a weak point. I saw a pair for sale locally for $250.00 and I was thinking I could pick up those, some 5100's Bilsteins, and a set of blocks for the back and probably save quite a bit of money and still get a good amount of performance.

Anyways I appreciate the advice, but I know there's got to be some people out there with a positive experience with Fabtech's products.

Just out of curiosity, how'd your friends break the spindles? Quite a few desert trips?
