reverse ring and pinion

what is the diff between dana 35 reverse ring and pinion vs standard and which is better\also does anyone know when they started putting the dana 35 in fords

Reverse-cut (AKA Hi-Pinion) is better for a front axle (stronger while going forward under power).
You don't have a choice between them though, you have to use whatever your axle is designed for (all TTB axles use the reverse-cut gears, SLA IFS trucks use standard gears).
