I made this a little while ago for my truck. Mainly for throwin the dirtbikes in the back to keep them off the end of the bed. Have you ever had something heavy loose in the back, hit the brakes and have it slide forward and dent the end of the truckbed? Happened in my dads old work truck all the time, so I came up with this.

Tools needed:
Angle Grinder with cutoff and flap disc
Welder
Dremel
Tape measure (optional, I used one once for this)

If you are unfortunate enough to have the Ford bedliner, you have to cut out the holes. Dont use an exacto knife like I tried to, it will snap and slice your wrist open.

I used a dremel to cut them out

Cut some old angle iron to slide in the holes, cause I had less square stock than I thought

Had to extend my square stock for the top rail.

Now you should have something like this once its welded

Added the hooks

Then added some down parts and a bottom part and ended up with this. The down parts are heavy guage steel tubing and the bottom part is angle iron.

Then add some sort of grating. You could make your own but I just happened to have some lying around

And you end up with that

Throw on some paint

And there! now you have a spot for little stuff, like rope, firewood, etc. Mine was just barely too tight to fit a jerry can back there. And added protection so heavy stuff doesnt slide into the front.

I will make some bracket to mount from the guard to where a roll bar once existed, unless I can think of some other quick release mount

So a backache or buttache rack?

That is awesome. Been thinking about doing that since i've gotten mine because i haul dirtbikes with it all the time. Now im going to have to do it! I really like how you you made its straight across the stake pockets so you could throw whatever (rideing gear) up there

awesome. We made something similar for the chevy we had..
