Just drained. The magnet had hardly anything(metal) on it. What is the measure to know if I can reuse?

Never...

I wouldn't reuse the fluid unless it was Sunday, nothing was open, and I had to drive it Monday. There is nothing in a transmission you can fix for the price of new fluid.

Even being a manual transmission... I would still just get some new transmission fluid.

You probably have no idea how long it's been in there... why take any chances.

I would almost never reuse trans fluid.

If you filtered it out, and put it in the bottle that your new fluid came in, and saved it for emergency use if you blew a line off road or on the highway, maybe.

Nope. I'd buy a little extra if I wanted to have some just in case.

I personally would to, especially for my everyday driver, or any vehicles I actually cared about.

However, if it was for an OLD farm truck, or off road truck that saw limited usage, maybe. I am talking about something that was kept together by the rust termites holding hands.

The fluid would have to be clean and bright red, anything darker with lots of miles goes to the recycling center.

I would reuse it... in a diesel fuel tank.

You could mix a bit with acetone to save as a penetrating fluid.

You could also mix it 50/50 with Marvel Mystery Oil and use it as after run oil in you nitromethane powered radio control cars.
