retreads?

I have never heard of anyone saying bad shit about Treadwright tires. They get rave reviews from everyone I have heard from.

thats what I am beginning to see so quick question, this one looks remarkably similar to the super swamper - https://www.treadwright.com/p-4-30-9-50r15-mud.aspx

but is 30/9.5/15 whereas at 31/10.5/15 they have a goodyear mt/r clone - https://www.treadwright.com/p-12-31-10-50r15-guard-dog-m-t.aspx

as well as a "crawler" - https://www.treadwright.com/p-11-31-10-50r15-crawler-m-t.aspx

any suggestions on which to get? most of everything around me is sloppy clay and mud pits but a few mild trails as well, i also do highway driving but not much at all so its not a big issue for me, I'm thinking the crawler looks like the best pavement/trail wise but the other two I'm not real sure about which is best? of course bigger is better right? : ) but the difference is only one inch so I'd rather get the better tread pattern. I'm seeing better mud lugs on the "mud"(smaller one) but the "guard dog" seems to have pretty good wrap around/side lugs goin on there, the "mud" in the pics seems to be narrower than the carcass it's sitting on? not sure about that, opinions welcome plz

Some people love the treadwright retreads but something about an old casing with new tread glued to it makes me very nervous. I'll stick with new. I drive a 50 mile round trip to work evry day and the last thing I need is a tire coming apart on me. Just my 2 cents.

I feel you man but I'm gonna give them a go, even if they're crappy if they last 30k its made up for the price, leaning strongly towards the 31/10.50/15 guard dog, anyone here run this tire?

they are great tires. a lot of local guys run there here. i might even be getting a set... i'm not scared of them.

well hells yeah! I'm gonna order me some within the next couple weeks then thanks guys

yeah I'm going with the 31/1050/15 i think there is a 2/4 week wait on them but i dont need them right now so its all good

i saw the link your talking about on that post a while back too, and had wondered the same thing! Sounds like it would be worth a try IMO

I use to Drive over the Road 18 wheelers, I have NEVER had a retread come apart on me, of course I always used a tire pressure gauge on my tires every morning to make sure the pressures were right.

the most important part of repops in tire pressure, make sure it's right, when I get a few extra dollars, I'm going to Newport Tire and get a set of 235/75/15's repops for my BII, IF I can get them cheaper then 78.00 apiece.

they don't just "glue" new tread on old casings. the Treadwright tires are actually remoulded. i remember old retreads from the 50's and 60's that would come apart after just a few thousand miles. these are waayyy different. so far, close to 40k on my Treadwright's and still over half the tread left. completely satisfied with their performance and very happy with their pricing!
but that's just me.

I have a set of the 235/75/15 crawler m/ts and have been running them for the last 40,000 miles and still have a decent amount tread left. I drive 56 miles a day on them 7 days a week them and will by another set if I can. But this time I will be going with 31s
