retreads?

They have great reviews and a few bad they have had a couple come apart but very rare. There customer service is also top notch my buddy ordered 4 35's and when he had them balanced one would not balance out. So he called them up they said some times that happens will send you another tire. Free of charge and you now have a spare. I thought that was outstanding. they also require regular rotations. some people have got 60k out of them now that is awesome for the price

someone had posted a link to this place in another thread https://www.treadwright.com/p-12-31-10-50r15-guard-dog-m-t.aspx
anyone use these? do they last as long as a new tire?
its a great deal for mt tires especially for the larger sizes just wondering how reliable they would be

Sorry, guys...I will never use retreads ever again. Retreads almost cost my sister and her unborn baby's life a few years back. I bought her a set of Tread Lights for the Baja bug I built her. One sharp looking Baja Bug!!! I put a set of 30x9.5's up front and 32x10.5 at the rear. The tires really looked nice!!! The retreads looked new to me when they arrived. They were shapr looking!!
My sister was out on the highway one afternoon doing about 60mph when the right rear blew. The tread separated and the right rear glass fender exploded right off the bug. My sister went into a spin, the bug started to flip about three times and the bug somehow came to a dead stop in the middle of I5 with a few truckers locking up their brakes to keep from hitting my sister.......her Angle was with her that day!!!! I was so pissed about the tire blowing out. Those retreads were only two weeks old. They were properly mounted and balanced and aired up.

So....I will never user retreads ever again!!!!

i've saw a number of people run treadwrights without a single problem, on dd jeeps and trucks... treadwrights have been the best retreads i've ever seen. when you say tread lights? do you mean treadwrights?

Sorry! Yes..... Tread Wrights. I could have gotten a new one after I called them, but I said I would pass and I had to buy another glass rear fender for her.
Here is the bug before I got the hid headlights mounted. This is a one owner 69 super beetle with an Impi motor...125 hp. The bug would do a wheel stand of the line when you wanted it to. Fast and light. Now it is sitting in the garage and only gets out once a month. If that bug had flipped it would have probably killed my little sister!!! She somehow keep it from flipping over. It tried to flip three times with that blown retread!!!!

wow, that is the only tire failure i've ever heard of from them. did you check it for something that might have cut it?
well, i'll keep buying them because of the great performance i've had with mine.

They might be an alright tire but I'm a little skepticle. A friend of mine just went and test drove a Toyota Tacoma that he was looking at and it had the MTR looking Treadwrights on it. When he asked the owner where he got his tires the owner said, "You noticed" ? Meaing the retreads. After the taking the test ride he said the tires would have to go! Said they were extremely loud and road terrible the they had a terrible bump in the steering wheel. He knows how these trucks behave cuz his wife drives one. He wasn't saying they were bad in the quality sense but that the mannerisms were just terrible.
