Thats the way I look at at it! My Gen1 lightning doesnt look the greatest but ive only spent about half of what it would cost for a stock Gen 2 lightning
But itll blow the doors vettes!

However in Alaska they are emissons Nazi's, as bad as California. She's going to need a OEM cat and downpipe on that. That'll run her at least $250, if not more due to the Alaska factor. Now she could fudge something in and try to replace it before emissions time rolls around, which would at least make it driveable. Just hope you don't get caught.

There are no Alaska state emissions requirements besides federal law, and by that nobody is allowed to chop off their cat. Anchorage had IM testing, but they have recently done away with that.

Most diehard Alaskan's would work on their trucks in their driveways if they needed to, no matter the temps or conditions. I do it all the time. You do what you have to do here or things can get bad. And right now, the weather during the day is so nice to work in compared to what we were dealing with, I'm looking for reasons to work outside.

Update: Green Lilly Ranger is off to a good home today. A mechanic had posted on craigslist looking for a vehical to fix up. He came by and liked Lilly, he said he really liked rangers and he drove her home. YAY She's with someone who has the time, tools and money to fix her.

That's good news...you should have told him to join TRS and let us know what he found...that would be like a sequel...Lilly II...or Lilly Returns...or maybe just Lilly...

Hope you got a few bucks for her...maybe even a doe...lol

That's what I do too.

And since I work at the dealership as a tech I get a steep discount on parts and their isn't a darn thing that I'm not confident doing. That means it takes a lot more for my monthly repairs to exceed the monthly cost of a new-to-us vehicle.

Except body work. I don't do body work.
