She has a few issues but first thing first. When she was my daily driver there was a time when it would click and click by turning the key over and over until when eventually it would crank and start,,, replaced the starter and was fine for quite some time but same thing came back just before parking it for the last couple years. There are not enough hours on the new started to point at that again I wouldn't think. Now, same thing but a tad different, dome light fades when stepping on brake peddle / safety switch and relays under the hood chatter and power dies completely and returns momentarily, however power will not stay when turning ignition in and of itself either. Very weird for this old school guy that used to jump start from the solenoid back in the day. There is what looks like could be a semblance of a solenoid to the fore of the relay compartment but I dare not arch that knowing there is a computer involved here? Any thoughts from the voices of experience?

A true starter relay (what you probably call a solenoid) is safe to jumper with a screw driver, regardless of the computer.

As for your other symptoms, it sounds like a weak battery or a bad connection.

I had the same clicking come from under the dash. charged the battery and it stoped

Indeed, some battery charger gremlins were holding the charge needle in the green showing a full charge which was not really there. Connections at the post remain clean and tight thanks, moving on to what makes the ignition to be turned and turned before engaging, going to try changing out components at the column which I salvaged from a parts truck, crosses fingers.

Thanks for your input pal.
