Hey y'all,

The button pull switch on my 87 High Rider has come apart inside my dash. My lights are stuck in the on position. I've been disconnecting the battery every time I turn off the truck.

I'm sellin' her and I'd like to fix the issue myself if I could... is this something a novice like myself can do? I plan on attempting to open the dash on Sunday to have a look around. What appears to be the 'problem is the screw or whatever it is that holds the switch to the interior dash has come loose so there's no stability allowing me to push or pull against the dash to turn the lights on or off.

Thanks so much,
ST

If I remember correctly, there's a button on the shaft at the back of the switch. If you push it in, the shaft can be withdrawn from the front. Once the shaft is out you will have access to the nut that holds the switch to the dash.
