Any tips will help.:icon_confused:

I hope your ranger is easier than my 94 explorer...

Lets see, I removed the skid plate, then the cat-section of the exhaust, then I needed a special star socket for the rear drive shaft, and my special socket didn't have enough clearence to fit onto the bolts on the front drive shaft on the t-case side, so I used a small star bit on a 1/4 inch socket to remove it on the front. Then I pulled off the t-case, its kinda heavy but im only 140 lb and I could handl it. Then I had to sawzall my exaust about 5-6" from the manifolds, in a strait section, because I couldn't get those damn bolts out. Then I unbolted the tranny from the motor, put a floor jack underneith it, and unbolted the cross member. then I had a friend help me get it back and down. Then I removed the clutch, and flywheel and put all the new parts on. It went back together super smooth. But had a major problem getting the clutch to release. Come to find out, my flywheel is way to thin and my slave cylinder isnt able to push my clutch open far enough.

Oh yeah, before you pull the tranny down you must take the shifter out, under the boot there should be a few bolts holding the shifter down.

unbolt the drive shafts with a 13 MM 12 point wrench
remove the exhaust cats
unbolt the Y pipe from the headers and unplug then remove.
unbolt all but 2 bolts from the trans, one on each side
remove shifter handle
remove electrical connections
remove slave line with white plastic ring by pushing it into the trans around the line
put a jack under the transfer case and remove the cross member, then the 2 bolts from the trans to the block.
bring a friend, and lift and slide the trans back then lower to the ground. the entire unit maybe weighs 120lbs
unbolt preassure plate and install new clutch and pressure plate
DO YOUR SLAVE CYLINDER
then bolt it all back up in reverse order.
