replacing clutch

Tryin to replace the clutch on my 1996 ford ranger 2wd 4 cylinder....I've got the transmission ready to drop but when I try to take the bolts off the crossmember that are on each side the bolts will turn but it will not come out... does anyone have any advise on how I can get these bolts off so I can get this job finished ....thanx for everything
