Greetings All.

I am new to the forum. I have a 1991 Ford Ranger Regular cab, 2.3L 4-cyl with the 5-speed manual. The truck originally came with a folding bench seat. I would like to install seats with head rests (as the current bench seat has no head rests). Are there any seats from other Rangers or Ford vehicles that will bolt right in? Has anyone done this swap?

Appreciate your input on this.

Thanks.

Thanks. I do not have the split bench. It is a straight bench and I was hoping for a plug and play solution. I had heard rumors that possibly Fox body Mustang or Thunderbird of the same era bucket seats will bolt in. Also curious if the bench or bucket seats from the 1993 and forward Ranger that did have head rests will bolt in.

You may need to drill four holes through the floor for the inside seat tracks if you install anything other than a bench seat... many of those trucks that came with a bench seat only had mounting holes for the outer seat tracks. FYI

Yes, you'll have to drill the other 4 holes, and your cab probably lacks the supports underneath for buckets but it's likely not a problem, my floor got pretty fried and broken but that's after 15 years of being used offroad...

You need to find seat tracks from another regular cab of similar body style (I don't remember the years...) that already has buckets, from there there's lots of options but the most popular swap is '91-01 Explorers, their seat tracks are different but the seats will bolt to the Ranger seat tracks...

where is the thread for seats that work

I'm replacing mine. If you want a 60/40
With no slides. Porno red split on drivers seat.

Not sure this will help anyone, but I pulled the 60/40 out and disposed of it after removing the Slides and supporting box. Then I did the same with the single passenger seat, swapped the slider mounting box after cleaning up, oiling and doing a little rust removal and Tremclad touch-up. The pristine single seat makes a lovely driver's seat.
My passenger slider will soon have a Cargo Tray attached to it similar to a Postal Jeep Mail Tray for Tax reasons. (I have a courier service in the Okanagan.)
