We got a quote to replace the 3.0 in a 2000 Ranger with a Long block and turn key for $3086.00 with 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. What do you guys think? Good price?

You could almost replace the dang truck for that kinda money!

Wooooh. $1000 per litre? That quote would have me looking for a new truck. What part of the country do you live in?

The guy that has the truck lives in Middle Ga and the truck is in excellent condition and he is the orginal owner and wants to keep it.

You could get a Jasper reman for that price and they have a reputation second to none. I think a Ford crate engine will run about $800 more.
Unless the body and everything else is in perfect condition, spending that kind of cabbage is a waste of money.

I think you are paying for that warrenty. The engine shouldn't be that much. I'd hapily install a good junkyard motor for a third that price.
