New to this forum, but have been poking around until my eyes are ready to fall out.
I have read several posts covering this swap, (all that I could find anyway) but they are incomplete or inconclusive. I know it might not make the most logical swap, most prefer a 4.0 as would I. But I have both vehicles, first is an 85 Ranger that is still kicking, but the motor is about dead. Second is a 89 BII that would not pass state inspection if you put a grand into it, not including new tires. Motor and drivetrain are fine.
1. Fuel system issues ie lines and pumps and some mention tank
2. Throttle cable
3. Wiring what to cut what to save
Will most likely swap tranny at the same time so pilot issue not a problem. Some say you could just swap flywheel, this seems to me like a possible balance issue?
Ditto for drive lines.
Also please pardon the duplicate posting if I have missed a complete thread.
Thanks for any help
