Im replacing tie rods in my 98 ranger 4x4. Im kinda confused on the inner boot thats attached to the rack. Ive heard cut the clamp and I have also heard that you can take a screw driver and pop them off. Anyone know what I need to do?
lower balljoints were a dog but they are done haha

For the inners, you cut the clamp off the boot where it seals to the rack. Then you use an inner tie rod removal tool and un-thread them, and thread in the new one.

Ok thanks...On that clamp do you buy a new one or ???? Looks to me like you could use a normal radiator clamp like a 4 inch one.

Yea you could do that or buy another CV boot style clamp like is on there from the factory.
