Removing spray paint from plastic

I'm probably not getting back to that store until next week. The problem got a bit worse then just cleaning the domes. It got broken into a second time... the same people... but this time they spray painted the cameras themselves. Looks like it will get new cameras now.

Cops picked up two people yesterday... a recently fired assistant manager and a crew person still employed there at the time of the second break in. Seems they would leave the back door to the service hall unlocked and use a piece of cardboard to defeat the lock on the service hall entry door.

I guess what they didn't take into account was the surrounding businesses and their cameras...

glad they got them.

Seems you have it all figured out... lots of people need your help. Because there is no shortage of young kids doing really stupid stuff.

A different thought. Pull one down and get the part number and look on eBay. These things have come down so far in price, you may be able to replace them without the headaches of trying to clean them.

or you may be able to buy new dome lenses even cheaper.

don’t forget good ole ammonia or bleach (not at the same time) and a shop rag. Water based solutions will have a better chance of not hazing the plastic dome, and hopefully the spray paint is sitting on the top and didn’t penetrate.

& you can thank the elite in Hollywood for teaching every scum thug the spray the cameras trick!
