Removing spindle bearings?

Anyone have any good ideas on how to remove my spindle bearings? I found this thread http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/spindlebearing.html
but I don't have a slide hammer and was hoping there was some other way. If you have a picture of a slide hammer with the proper attachment I would love to see the 'proper way' of removing the bearing. Thanks.

i always knock them out with a brass drift or screwdriver and a hammer, i think the slide hammer is a little over complicated unless you are intending on reusing the bearings

Yeup, I use a long drift to get them out and a socket and hammer to tap them back in.
