Removing slave cylinder - FM146

Hey all,

I'm trying to remove the slave cylinder on a FM146 tranny. There aren't any bolts to remove on the slave. There are four bolts around the slave, seems like they attach the bellhousing to the tranny?

Any tips on removing it?

After doing a little more reading..it seems like this is a FM145 instead of a FM146?? Can anyone verify?

If so..this sucks haha. I can't find a M5OD anywhere in town. I guess I'll just wait until this one blows up.

It is hard to tell which tranny that is from those pictures. If your truck is an 85-87 than it should be and FM145. If it newer than that it should be an FM146. To remove the slave, you need to unbolt the bellhousing from the transmission. It will then slide right off the input shaft.

I'm working on the exact same slave. Mine has an e57a label on it....toyo kogyo tranny? I don't mean to hijack your thread, but i'm trying to replace the clutch on mine and am not sure how to replace the bearing sleeve on this thing? any ideas.?

After cleaning the tranny up a bit, I found a fm145 tag on it. And to replace the slave, just as 4D55 said, remove the four bolts holding the bellhousing on and the slave pops right out. Thanks!
