Hey guys its getting nice and warm over here and im lookin to cruise around jeep style. I just can't figure out how to get the doors off. can anyone help me out? my rangers a 94

so no ones ever taken a door off? i know some people have tube doors and what not

easiest way I know is to remove the fenders, than the door bolts, other way is to take a wrench and slowly remove the bolts.

hey thanks. if i cant take the hinges off with the doors i can just take the doors off the hinges i guess

If you remove the fenders, you have get a socket in and take the hinges off, if you want to work at it, you can take a wrench and turn the bolts a little at a time to remove the hinges from the truck.

I saw a picture of a Ranger with tube type doors. I am trying to find it. The tube doors bolt on to where the stoke doors do. I am trying to remember where I saw it at. It could be one of my Florida 4x4 clubs. I will try to find the photos real hard.

Remember if you do remove the doors you are compromising the structural integrity of your cab, We don't have integrated roll-bars like wranglers do.

You might want to check with your local law on that also. My frind with a yota (I know thats not a good word) just got a ticket and was givin 15 days to run it by the state patrols office to have re inspected. Around here they are cracking down on OEM standards.

I got ticketed in my BII for no doors, in MOAB Utah...

You can take the doors off the hinges with a 13mm / 1/2in wrench. They're somewhat heavy...

If Jeeps can run the tube doors legally than the Rangers or other trucks should be able to run tube doors as well. I see a lot of Jeeps around here in the Florida area running tube doors on the street.

Okay....here's the deal with Jeeps vs everything else: Jeeps have the doors designed to come off by the user, thus they are allowed to be driven with them off. This is due in part to the lip in the door well, as well as other designs. If the doors are taken off, then adequate mirrors have to be left on the jeep still (usually, this is two total mirrors either combination with side or rear view). On some jeeps, the windshield is also designed to fold down....

All other vehicles are not designed this way. That's why it's against the law to drive other vehicles this way. I can't say what the legalities are to custom/tube doors, but I can't see there being a problem unless the police officer you get is either wanting to pick on you, or having a bad day.

Heck, I've thought about doing a set of custom cut doors someday...
