Alright guys heres the deal im having a REALLY bad water leak and i think its because the drain for the cowl on my 93 is clogged up. Any suggestions on removing the fenders and how to go about cleaning the drain out?

removing fenders is relatively easy...at least on first and second generations...probably one nut inside the door near the top hinge, and one just under the fender by the back of the wheel well...then you can loosen all the ones under the hood line...and you should be able to get at the opening for the cowl...

However, and this is the not so good news, it is unlikely that a clog is causing your water situation...but hopefully it is...if the water is backing up into the fresh air vent (again, not sure if they've changed that much from 92) then that could well be your solution...but I'd give a serious look at the windshield and firewall areas before even starting to take anything apart...but you may have to just to find where the water is coming in...

thanks mark
yea see after it rains perdy good when i go to move my truck anytime i make a left turn or go up an incline ill hear a sloshing sound and then BAM! i see water pouring out from up under my dash on the passenger side and i cant really ever see exactly where its coming from but some of the foam behind my glovebox is wet...i need to fix this problem soon cuz i cant be havin moldy carpet or rusted out floorboards

well i got sum good news and bad news now..i fixed the leak all it was was on the drivers side the cowl drain with the lil rubber flap was just blocked up with dirt/mud.instead of taking off my fenders i just pulled the inner liner for the fender out and reached up there but now i cant get my damn fender flares back on...any ideas?

The only idea that springs to mind is bend, force, and maybe take a trip to the junkyard for some replacments if you break them...

Is it that they won't stay in place or that you can't get them in or around something? The ones on an 88 are pretty easy, but I've had my share of fighting with them before they reluctantly cooperated...

they dont wanna go back on the lil clip things that are riveted into my body. if it didnt have those rivets id just leave them off it kinda looks better but i dont want holes so....i gotta get em back on

Ah, OK...haven't tried to remove inners on a 93 model so not sure what you're running into...but I've had to yank mine out a few times and stuff them back in to find what they were hitting on...

Are you raising the truck to do this? If not you might try jacking it up and take the tire off...if you've got picks maybe someone else can chime in here and help you out...not that someone familiar with that model year would need them if they've had similar problems...

i aint gotta camera but im not on the jacks anymore i had to take it down to drive to work and class
