How do I remove my fenders on the front, back and where do I lift a 1984 For Ranger XLT sing cab with a 6' bed.... I cannot fina a place too... no area to fit a jack!!

I need to lift up the front end.

Nothing but emergency brake thats unreliable, and it wont start right now, forget pushing it, its in a rutt.

get on msn john, u know ive done it before, and forget about lifting, ur frame will probly cumble if u unbolt the cab from it.

Lifting: Block rear of rear wheels. Put floor jack cradle under TTB arm, near the outside by the bolt/nut that's protruding from the bottom. Jack. Place jackstands under same TTB arm or under flat spot on frame rearward of the where the radius arm meets the frame.

Oh, by "front end' do you mean the body, as to separate from the frame?

Okay, how do I lift my ranger if the frame is too high and the lifting it by the axle is not safe? I have a jack, and 2 stands,

Why is is not safe to lift by the axle? Is it on uneven ground? Could you put down a board or two to help even out the ground and support the floor jack?

Its on grass, I can have wood I can shove under the jack and stands, and IDK now that I think of it, dad told me not to do that for some reason o_0 he said it could damage the axles...

My nearest reference right now is a Haynes manual. It states: "When using a floor jack, lift the front of the vehicle by positioning the jack under the lower front shock absorber mount." The picture shows the area I was trying to describe. I've been lifting here for years and I've never damaged an axle yet, as far as I can tell. Just be careful and you should be fine.

Hello to all and I hope ya'll can help me out. :) I have a 94 Ford Ranger 2.3 four cylinder five speed. I have been having a slew of problems lately and need some pointers. It all started with a check engine light. Changed out the idler pulley to start, had the wrong one on there. Then changed out the AC and drier, cuz it died. Then I threw the timing belt, changed out the water pump, tstat, housing for the tsat and put on the new timing belt. Have flushed the radiator twice in doing all of this. Still getting the check engine light. Borrowed a ACTRON diagnostic reader. got a code 224 and 998. was told by the service guy at the locale ford dealership to check the coils...bla bla..replaced the primary coil. Still getting the same codes. I drove the crap out of it last night to see if it just needed to be driven a bit to reset. The check engine light went out... Well... for about 30 minutes and now I am back at square one. What would you suggest I try next? Any help would really be appreciated.
