You can get a removal tool that slides under the head there and pry it out. It's just a push in fastener so it pulls right out. I usually use a pocket knife, or two, slide the blade(s) under head and twist up.
needle nose pliers work too. if you use any tool there is the possiblitly of scratching the plastic so if you care about your kick panel use vacuum line or just rubber or vinyl hose over whatever tool you pick. push the kick plate in slightly around the interior pin to get a little bit more room to grab the pin
