I took a shot at removing my computer to inspect and get part numbers. I found myself quickly over my head, I didn't understand the disassembly. There are two bolts top and bottom holding what appears to be the housing. There is also a single bolt dead center in the wiring harness connector which became harder to unscrew as I attempted to remove, I never did remove it.

How do you get this sucker out?

You've got to remove that center bolt in order to get the harness off. It SHOULD slide out with the other bolts removed, but it's a lot harder to do with the harness still attached.

Is the resistance I feel removing the center bolt, the actual connector separation? In other words, does removing the center bolt mechanically/physically separate the harness connector from the computer connector? Do you feel me?

Little help please, I need to know what to expect pulling out the computer.

Yes

I know it can be a little scary, but I've done this on my own truck AND to one in the wrecking yard. Get that center bolt out of there and the harness will separate from the 72 pin connector.

Do you still need to remove the top/bottom housing bolts to remove the computer?

Thanks for the help and moral support Robert. This is a $500+ job one can do for $200 if one has the correct knowledge.

Edit: I see you answered that in earlier post...thanks again Robert!
