I have 08 ranger 3.0 auto I want to put in a aftermarket remote starter in , does anyone have one if so did you have any problems the manual says i should a ford remote start thanks
The reason for that is the PAT system. You need to program a chip so the truck will start. What I heard is that they take a chip like the one in your key and glue it inside the steering column. What I would do is take somewhere that way you have someone to help you if it fails. My sister had her Toyota done for 160.00 at Zebart.
Ford sells pats modules (a programmable box that is installed in the steering column and has a lead that wraps around the ignition cylinder) that store your PATS key chip signal so that it can be started with the remote starter (no key in ignition)
We don't just glue a chip key under the column.....
