Remodel cash hemorage

The floors went in last week for the kitchen and dinning room. The wood floors look very nice. The new appliances should be delivered this week. The fireplace down stairs now works perfectly. That only cost $500 for the repair guy. I also had him add a fan. The down stairs is also completely stripped to the studs. I ordered the new whirlpool tub last week. They say it will take 3-4 weeks for delivery. It is at least going in the right direction. I also can't believe the 10 yard dumpster in the driveway is chocked full.

There are ways to get plumbing, electrical, etc. supplies on the cheap. I worked at Lowes for about a year and a half an one night they were going to throw a 16' section of laminate countertop in the compactor because it was damaged about 6" in on one side. I offered to buy it and the store manager sold it to me for $1. I took it home and made one hell of a work bench out of it. The next week they were going to trash these two identical light fixtures. One had broken glass domes, the other had a bend arm. I bought them for $1 each and combined the two and it's in my bedroom right now. Then about 3 or 4 months later the pluming dept was changing displays and they were actually going to put a perfectly good, unused whirlpool tub in the compactor. I asked the store manager if I could buy it for $1 and they said not this time. I called my cousin who was looking for one and asked what he was willing to pay. I offered the store manager $250 for it and he said if it was gone within the hour I could have it. My cousin jetted over, picked it up, and installed it the next day. He now has a $3000+ whirlpool tub in his master bathroom. Bottom line . . . make friends with as many people at the local lowes, home depots, menards, etc. stores as possible. Those places throw out so much good stuff its stupid.

I would kill to find some deals like that. My tub just cost me a tad over 2K. It was sold locally for $3,000. I found a place on the internet that would drop ship for the lower price. Found out that even the local places don't have them in stock and they are shipped from the factory. What I need now is a bundle of 2x4's to fall off the back of a truck onto a pile of sheet rock.

I'm thinking if I put a trough out for my soon to be wife that would be the last time I see her naked.

You should have seen the building supply auction I was at this weekend. There were overstock hot tubs selling for $800-1000. I got myself a 12x50' roll of white plush carpet for $275 and ended up just leaving after that because I know I would have spent too much if I stayed. I'm addicted to buying up good deals.

Sure now you tell me. Where did you hear about the auction? That's the kind of stuff I really need good deals of everything.

I posted it previously.

I found out about them from this guy who sold me stuff cheap a while back. I responded to a classified ad he had put up a while back and it turned out that he flips houses for a living and buys up anything and everything he can get cheap incase he needs it some day. He gave me a bunch of websites for foreclosure auctions and that one for buying materials. If you search hard enough you can find all that you need out there at a cheaper price. It can get pretty time consuming hopping around between craigslist and local classifieds but if you're looking for a bunch of normally expensive items then that could pay off in the end.

I greatly appreciate the suggestions. My original plan was to wait for a rich relative to die. Then I found out that I don't have any rich relative. Damn my blue collar working class background.:icon_rofl:
Unfortunatly that auction house is a couple of states to far east. I'll have to search the web for something closer.

The Refrigerator is in and the ice maker and water on the door is hooked up. The dishwasher is in and the microwave is mounted. The range comes next week.
