Is there any difference between the reay you would ge from an autoparts store and a Ford dealer?
Are they all made by manufactures other than Ford?
What brands are recommended?
Are there any aoto parts stores that can test them?

Yes, ford just puts their name on it.

Take the time to learn how they work and test them yourself. It's worth the time and effort.

just DON'T buy a CHINA relay......they're real inexpensive but they last one year...i learned the cheap way!!
